When touring Ireland, you have several options to choose from: tour via walking, cycling, paying a taxi or a driver, taking a bus, boarding the train, or renting a car and driving. Here are some ways to tour Ireland:

Touring Ireland by Driving

Should renting a car and doing your own driving strike your fancy. Here are a few things to know. The drivers in Ireland are typically polite and the traffic is more on the lighter side than being heavy. Like the rest of Britain, you drive on the left side of the road. The Irish roads tend to be very narrow but well maintained. They’re stonewalled lined or lined by hedges and with slower speed limits, you’ll feel like you’re zooming by everything. Many times, you’ll have to stop to let the traffic that’s oncoming pass you. Be sure to check for convex mirrors that have been placed in the bushes and hedges so that you can check for cross traffic. Do keep in mind that sometimes taking a car is slower than you would think as many highways run directly through the middle of towns.

Touring Ireland by Train

Traveling by train is a good way to see the major villages including Waterford, Galway, and Cork. Those who backpack and bike may find taking the train useful. If you’re trying to go from the west side of Ireland to Dublin, then traveling by train by be your quickest bet as even divided highways run smack dab in center of towns. However, taking the train around Ireland will limit you as their are many places such as Newgrange, Ring of Dingle, The Giants Causeway, and many rural areas in Ireland that the train cannot get you to. Many people combine train travel with bus and/or ferry. Touring Ireland by Bus

Touring by bus is very affordable. There is a huge variety of escorted bus tours with different themes and locations. Here are just a few: a “taste of Ireland” type tour where you get a tidbit of this area and that area including the foods of that location, an Irish heritage type of tour where you get to experience the deep traditions of Ireland the way it was, and a bus tour that focuses on the Irish legends and traditions.

Touring Ireland by Walking and/or Biking

There’s no truer way to experience an area than to delve right into it and walking and/or biking will grant you this. Riding in a car, bus, or train seems to be more like watching the country through a glass window until you step out into it during stops. However, walking and biking gives you a true sense of everything from the atmosphere around you to the bumps and turns of the the landscaping beneath you. Along with meeting people and stopping and starting at your own pace as well as getting some serious exercise, touring Ireland in these ways can be great fun.

Whether you opt for one way of touring Ireland or mix and match several options, there are many great companies and businesses that can plan out tours for you. They can assist in tours that are focused on sightseeing, dining, adventure, history, and much more or they can assist in many other ways to give you the ultimate touring Ireland experience.

The heartbeat of Europe, the country Belgium attracts numerous travelers every year. The country where three official languages are spoken, has a glorious past, fine art, foodstuff and structural designs at every nook and corner, when it is compared to the countries in its vicinity.

Snuggled between the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg and France, Belgium covers approximately 30,527 square kilometres and is a dwelling to almost 10 lakh people. Extended from the charming and pleasing Ardennes area in the south to the desolate North Sea shoreline in the North, it is crisscrossed lengthily by a set of canals.

Belgium became an integral part of the Frankish empire in the year 1100 and had the benefit of a Golden Age at some stage in the 14th century under the governance of the French Duke of Burgundy. This was a golden period and a time of immense riches and creativity when the town of Antwerp became the supreme port in Europe. The country was attacked two times by Germany, firstly in in 1914 and then another time in 1940. Belgium’s populace is separated between Flemish speakers that comprises almost 60% and French speakers who are almost 40%.

The Belgians are accredited with inventing oil painting and the master pieces of such artists as Van Eyck, Brueghel and Rubens are well known all over the world. The nation is in addition celebrated for such miscellaneous activities as making best chocolate and lace-making, beer and comic strips. Herge, the originator of the distinguished comic strip Tintin, was Belgian. The capital city of the country, Brussels, is the capital of the European Union too. It has Europe’s most gorgeous and fine-looking central square, the Grand Place. The most excellent restaurants in the country can be found on the Rue des Bouchers, which is just a short distance from the Grand Place. At this particular place you can taste lobster, crab and mussels washed down with outstanding Belgian beer.

The town of Bruges is Europe’s most conserved middle aged city. It has two medieval centers and some of the most beautiful and commendable art collections in the country. Antwerp is a must visit place to gulp in its air of discolored magnificence and its vivacious cafes and bars. Take pleasure in a walk in the gorgeous Ardennes area of deep valleys and high forests. Let the strength of this most European of countries pierce your soul and etch some lifetime memories.

If you want to rent a holiday home with a difference, the island of Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean has scores of tea plantation bungalows for rent.

Sri Lanka, known until 1972 as Ceylon, was once a part of the British Empire, gaining independence in 1948. The British brought tea to Ceylon and Pure Ceylon Tea eventually became famous throughout the world.

Tea was grown on large plantations, or tea gardens, where a planter lived in a specially built bungalow, usually located at the highest point of the plantation. This gave the planter splendid views of the vast valleys below him planted with tea bushes as far as the eye could see.

While the bungalows and the plantations still exist, modern communications like better roads and telephones, mean that a planter no longer needs to live on his plantation. So the bungalows have become available to rent as holiday homes.

Because of the planter’s lifestyle, bungalows were built with plenty of guest rooms, with attached bathrooms, to accommodate visitors, either friends or tea company officials.

Most were built with a morning room and a smoking room, complete with a log fireplace, and a formal dining room. All had quarters for servants: a butler and a cook to work inside the house, and a gardener and his boy to tend the flowers and lawns.

The plantation lifestyle still remains, even if the planter is no longer in residence. In many bungalows, the bathrooms have been modernised with constant hot water and fluffy towels. The bedrooms, often with four-poster beds, have rugs covering the wooden floorboards.

Bungalows are rented with full staff who will quickly make sure guests understand the plantation bungalow routine. This begins with “bed tea” – early morning tea served in the bedroom by the butler.

Breakfast is usually prepared a couple of hours after the guest gets up. It will consist of a western-style dish of eggs and bacon, or a Sri Lankan breakfast of savoury pancakes with a fried egg nestling in the centre, beef curry and a sweet onion and chilli relish.

Lunch will be the Sri Lankan speciality of rice with beef, chicken, fish or pork curry and four or five vegetable curries. For dinner, there will be a western meal of soup, roast chicken or fish pie, and a dessert like trifle.

Staff at some bungalows will cook the ingredients supplied by guests; while at others there will be a choice of different menus every day. Guests are not expected to do anything but enjoy their holiday.

The best bungalows are in the island’s hill country (from 4,500 to 6,000 feet above sea level) where by day the climate is sunny and cool at night. Some bungalows are luxurious with swimming pools and rent for $1,000 a night for four or five rooms, while others are more basic and are available at about US$400 a night.

All are ideal for families seeking a rural holiday with trekking through the tea gardens up and down hills during the day, and cosy comfort with plantation cuisine at night, and butler and steward in constant attendance.

Before beach hotels were built and passengers arrived by sea, not air, an invitation to stay with a tea planter was highly prized by visitors. Today this privilege is available to anyone who wants to enjoy the leisurely lifestyle of a vacation in a plantation residence.

Kenya is one of the most beautiful countries one can ever visit. It borders Tanzania, Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia. It has a very beautiful coastline on the southeast part bordering the Indian Ocean. From the diverse cultural practices to the wildlife, one must have a good stay in this here. The most notable are the wildlife, vegetation and people. The weather is also very conducive especially if you visit during the sunny season. If you are intrigued by the wildlife, the Mara and Amboseli national parks are the places to visit. These places are a home to Africa’s greatest.

The two most enjoyable things in Kenya are the culture and the wildlife. Kenya has a very rich and diverse culture. The wildlife can also be found in there natural habitats around the forests, game reserves and national parks. The coastline is also very beautiful. The Diani beach is a very favorite tourist spot. It is around 25km long, very clean and spotted by entertainment joints, hotels and deck chairs.

The most spectacular animals are the Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino. These can be found in the Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo and Nakuru national parks. The Masaai culture is worldly known and people from all walks of life come to enjoy it. Most enjoy dressing, living and eating like the Masaai even if it is only for a few days. The Masaai artifacts trade is also a very lucrative business in Kenya and the whole world. The beautiful Mount Kenya with a snow peak is the second highest mountain in Africa. If you are a mountaineer, take a shot at climbing its several peaks.
